Local groups benefit from RoLo/Community Chest awards

1528166Almost £3,000 worth of funding was granted to local groups in the Spring 2017 round of Big Warsop/RoLo Community Chest awards.

Church Vale School received £450 to fund the attendance of 12 children on a two-day camp and Jigsaw Support Scheme received £201 to purchase new equipment for their activity group, including a bowling set and mat. Welbeck Lions FC received £249.48 towards the purchase of new goals and balls and The Oaklands charity received £440 towards the cost of redecorating their entrance lobby.

Warsop Footpaths and Countryside Group received an award of £200 to cover the cost of printing 1,000 foothpath/walking leaflets.

Other groups benefiting in this round of funding included Warsop Children’s Centre, Hetty’s Donate and Dazzle, Hetts Lane Holiday Club, Warsop Infotech Group, Warsop Parish Centre (Stable Barn) and Warsop Wheelies BMX Club.

This time around the total of the amounts applied for exceeded the Community Chest grant available. As a result, the committee decided to only partially fund some of the requests from groups who had previously received support from the RoLo/Community Chest.

A fourth round of RoLo/Community Chest funding grants will be announced later in the year.
