There are 12 places available on each course date. Both the First Aid and Food Safety courses are at Level 2 and a certificate will be issued by Highfield HABC (the awarding body). In the case of First Aid, a card is also issued which proves competence. The First Aid course is assessed throughout the course, so there is no exam at the end. The 2017 regulations also require training in defibrillators, which will mean that more people will be trained up to use the defibrillators in Warsop Parish funded by Big Warsop and Friends of Meden Vale.

The Level 2 Food Safety course has a multiple choice test with 40 questions (candidates must answer 27 of the questions correctly to pass).

These training opportunities are only available to people age 16 or over who live, work or volunteer in Warsop Parish. There is also a limited fund available to support childcare costs incurred as a result of attending the course. This must be via a registered childminder or day care setting (such as Shaping Futures) and agreed with Lesley Watkins in advance (email office@bigwarsop.com).

To book a place on one of the courses, please email office@bigwarsop.com with your name, contact details, your choice of course and your preferred date.

Candidates must be available for the full duration of the course session (10am to 4pm) and arrive on time. A photo ID will be required (if this is not possible then contact Care Trainers Ltd on 07581351260 to discuss alternative forms of ID).

If you have any additional learning or support needs please let us know when booking as we can make reasonable adjustments.
