Seven more first aiders in Big Warsop

Seven people from the Big Warsop area have attended a one-day first aid course funded by Big Local. The Level 2 Emergency First Aid at Work course gave the local residents improved skills and knowledge of first aid which they can apply in their current work roles or use to improve their career or volunteering prospects.

The course was delivered by Vision West Nottinghamshire College in partnership with Warsop InfoTech.

As well as teaching about the roles and responsibilities of an emergency first aider, the course offered practical training on dealing with shock, seizures, choking, wounds and bleeding, and burns and scalds. CPR resuscitation techniques were also taught as part of the course.

Mark Firth, Community Development Worker at Vision West Nottinghamshire College said: “The course has contributed to raising the skill levels of local people and increased the number of qualified first aiders in the Big Warsop area.”

The course will help me either in my current job or looking for a new job.
