In the spring 2016, the 2nd Warsop Scout Group was awarded £380 worth of RoLo Community Chest funding. The group used the funding to buy the equipment they need to correctly store food on camping trips. They also purchased a gas bottle, hose and fixtures, as well as pump flasks to make sure that hot drinks are always readily available for the group.
We’re very grateful for the donation from Big Warsop,” said Andrew Melless, the Group Scout Leader. “The pump flasks will be used by the Scouts when they go on conservation weekends in Derbyshire, and will ensure they have hot drinks whilst out working in the countryside.”
The new equipment has already been put into service (see images). It was used when the Cubs went camping at Southwell Racecourse to celebrate 100 years of Cub Scouts – an event that was attended by 1500 Nottinghamshire Cubs and 500 leaders.
