Big Warsop have submitted the attached report to Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue as part of the consultation on the future of Warsop Fire Station. Fire Station Consultation
As you may have seen recently in the news, Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service (NFRS) have begun a 12 week consultation on proposals to reduce front line services. Part of these proposals include closing Warsop Fire Station for good.
Great news earlier this week Mansfield District Council approved the conditions for our planning, enabling work to commence at the Aspire Centre (old Eastwoods Depot next to the Health Centre).
Almost 3 years behind the scenes to get to this point, and with only weeks to go until the original planning application lapsed, not time to delay in starting.
Earlier today (25thApril 2014) a few volunteers from @BigWarsop and the Warsop Youth Club, along with David Childs and his JCB from Hopkinson Plant Hire Ltd. began to clear the site to make it safer to start the rest of the works on site and prepare for the car park which is one of the next important jobs we need to start outside, followed promptly by the landscaping and polly tunnels to kick start the horticulture side of our delivery plan.
Big Warsop Supports Warsop Youth Club’s new Aspire Centre
Although Adam Eastwood and Sons Ltd is no longer trading and has gone into voluntary liquidation, the well-being of the community of Warsop remains very much in the hearts and thoughts of the trustees of the Sir John Eastwood Foundation. Through a very generous donation from the Foundation, Warsop Youth Club (WYC) have been able to acquire the former Adam Eastwood garage depot site alongside the Health Centre to the rear of Church Street, on the understanding that the site is to be used for the benefit of young people in the parish.
