Strong support from community at AGM
Thirty people attended the Big Warsop Annual General Meeting, which was held on 13 July at the Community Hub in the Adam Eastwood Building on Wood Street.
Michael Smith and Andrew Johnson from the Big Warsop Partnership Board talked about the Big Warsop project and presented an overview of achievements over the last twelve months.
The five themes for the new plan were outlined, along with details of the funded activities planned for the next two years. The agreed themes are:
- Strengthening Community
- Empowering People
- Supporting People
- Improving the Environment
- Having Things to Do
The presentation was followed by a question and answer session, which drew positive comments on what had been delivered so far, plus further ideas and suggestions for new Big Warsop funded activities.
The evening concluded with the formal part of the meeting, which involved appointing the Partnership Board. Michael Smith, who decided to stand down from the Board, was thanked for his valuable contribution as Chair over the last three years. Several new residents joined the Board and were invited along to the next monthly meeting on 3 August.
It was fantastic to see so many people at the meeting and heartening to know that so many local people are willing to join the Board and volunteer to get involved with Big Warsop.
For those of you who were unable to attend the meeting the presentation and plan overview is included below:
